Welcome to Immanuel. We hope you enjoy watching tonight’s opening game. Both teams have had a week (first practice was Monday, November 10th) to prepare for the initial game of the 2008 – 09 season. The guests for tonight’s game are from New Auburn High School. Last year in the first game of the season, Immanuel won at New Auburn by a score of 56 - 35.

New Auburn
The New Auburn basketball team is led again by Coach Bill Peterson. The team roster includes one senior, Sarah Pope. Junior Danielle Goodremote scored 12 points in last year’s game.
Immanuel
The Lancers are led by six players who were starters at various times last year including senior captains April Oster (4 rpg), Kelsey Albrecht (4 ppg) and Stephanie Lau (4 ppg). Joining these three junior returning starters Jessica Ohlmann (6 ppg & 7 rpg), Renae Markus (3 apg) and Amy Roehl (3 ppg). The Immanuel varsity team includes the two leading scorers from last seasons JV team, seniors Lauren Franson and Hannah Gerbitz, and junior Katherine Kazemba. For the first time in four years the Immanuel varsity roster does not include all-conference players, Rachel Sydow and Jessie Meyer.
