Not very much has changed  in the D5 rankings from last week as the top six teams remain the same. South Shore jumped two spots to #7 this week while Fall River and Benton/Shullsburg dropped a spot in the poll.

NOTE:  The Lancers were unable to shake loose from a suffocating box-and-1 defense by the Durand Panthers whose game strategy paid off in the win.  The Durand coach said after the game that his defensive strategy was planned because he had no one on his team to match up to one of the best players in the state.

Durand sneaks past Immanuel

Morganne Gruber led the way for Durand with 20 points and four 3-pointers as the Panthers’ girls basketball team barely escaped with a one-point, 51-50, victory over the Immanuel Lutheran Lancers.

Marissa Koller’s only points for Durand was a game winning layup with 34 seconds left in the game.

Emily Hein scored 17 points and made five 3-pointers while Johanna Meyer scored 13 points and one 3-pointer to lead Immanuel Lutheran.
