Each of the girls contributed with her own special role and each had her own special moments to bring about the team's success. Thanks to the team managers, Melanie Hallstein and Rachel Mackensen, for all that they did throughout the year.

Thanks to the girls, to Coach Lau, and to Coach Sydow for the memorable season!

Coach Lau writes in the Immanuel Daily Bulletin:
"On behalf of our team, I would like to express our sincere appreciation for the awesome fans we had this season. I attended the regional final in Chippewa on Saturday and you put their crowds to shame. We loved playing for you and wished we could have kept playing. Congratulations also to the girls in our program this season. All three teams fared well, with the varsity girls finishing with a 7-2 conference record, one point away against Alma to winning their 4th consecutive conference title. Great season!!"

Volleyball: Thank You Fans!!!!!

From Melrose-Mindoro

From Greenwood

A HUGE THANK YOU TO THE FANS THIS YEAR!!!

One thing about the fans at Immanuel, they sure show some amazing support for the volleyball team!!! They cheer appropriately, they are good sports, they don't boo the other team, they really cheer if a bench player comes into the game, they don't cheer for the other team's error unless the game is on the line, they really cheer if there's a really good play, they hold back if the other team is getting slaughtered, they silently oooo after a bad call without yelling out something stupid, they have great cheers that they make sure they don't overuse, etc., etc. Incredible, really!

Among all the schools that the team played at, Immanuel had by far and without a doubt the best and most supportive atmosphere for their team. This includes larger schools. Even the Melrose-Mindoro coach publicly commented on the great atmosphere at Immanuel after she lost a really tough, highly competitive match against us in five sets. She quoted to the reporter after the game, '"It was so intense - the noise in that gym. It was really kind of cool," Boone said. "It gave you the goosebumps for a high school game to be that loud."'

That says it all!!!

Thanks, so much, for making it a wonderful and memorable season by all your positive support!

We Love This Game

From the October edition of The Flash:

WE LOVE THIS GAME
By Christina Hein

Anybody who knows me probably knows that I love volleyball, and this season is no exception. We've all won together, lost together, and made tons of memories. Now the end of the season is coming up, and we're all proud to look back at how far we've come.

We started the season excited and ready to have fun; we knew we needed to put in a lot of effort to be really, really good. We clicked right away. Even though we lost a couple rough games, we stick together as a team, which is the most important thing. We have wonderful coaches that help us get better, and we all love them.

And then there's you. The fans. You guys are fantastic. Our games just wouldn't be the same without you. We all thank you so much! It really means a lot to us that you guys are so dedicated.

Regionals are coming up, and we all want to go far. But however it ends, we'll still be a team. And we'll have great coaches and amazing fans right beside us! So thanks for your support, guys-WE LOVE YOU.

Volleyball: 2010 Dairyland Conference Runner-Ups

There was a very close race this year for the Dairyland Conference championship. Alma and Cochrane-Fountain City are co-champions of the conference, tied with an 8-1 record (WSN list of conference titles). This left Eau Claire Immanuel tied with Melrose-Mindoro for co-runner-ups with a 7-2 record. Immanuel played Alma and CFC very early in the season, Alma in a very tight five-set match. During the fifth set Immanuel led at 16-15 and ended up losing 16-18. That means Immanuel missed being Conference Champs for the 4th year in a row by merely ONE point. Congrats to the Lancers for such a valiant effort during conference play.
